RECENT NEWS

Pennsylvania: If you haven’t looked recently, in the purchase of auto insurance you have many options. Just so you understand, “full coverage” may not be what you think it is. You have an initial option of Full Tort or limited tort. Unless you buy Full Tort, your ability to receive payment for your claim is severely limited. Over the years, limited tort cases have shown that a fracture of the skull, or knee surgery may not be enough of an injury to get paid. The difference in cost is often minimal, but the value of buying Full Tort is well worth the investment. Also, make sure that you are purchasing Uninsured Motorist and Underinsured Motorist Coverage. These options protect you and will pay you for your injuries in the other car is a hit and run, or has no insurance (uninsured motorist) or will provide additional coverage and a source for benefits if the other driver has liability limits that are not enough to pay for your own injuries,(underinsured motorist).

New Jersey: Your options are for “0” Tort Threshold, or verbal/law suit threshold. The “0” Tort Threshold will allow you to seek damages for your injuries no matter what the extent of them. If you select verbal/law suit threshold, you will have to demonstrate that you have basically a permanent injury. This decision is often made by a judge before you even get to an arbitration panel or jury. The value of purchasing “0” Tort Threshold is well worth the cost for you and your family. It will allow you to provide coverage without an insurance company making the decision for you.
